The Couples SIG always welcomes new members from both the clinical and research communities. Members receive the following benefits:

· Events at every annual ABCT Convention

· Access to the Couples SIG email listserv

· Subscription to the bi-annual Couples Research and Therapy Newsletter

Annual Membership Dues are:

• $5 per year for students, first-year post-docs, and retired members
• $30 per year for all professional members *

*Note: Professional dues include $5 toward the Couples SIG Underrepresented Scholars Fund.

If you are interested in joining, please (1) pay dues through Venmo, PayPal, or in person at the convention and then (2) Complete the membership renewal form and you will be added to the listserv.

How to pay dues:

Dues can be sent electronically to the treasurer Yunying (Annie) Le via Venmo (send payment to @Yunying-Le) or via PayPal.com (send to yunyingleannie@gmail.com). It is important to designate the payment as "send to friends and family" to avoid processing fees. For all dues, please indicate “ABCT Couples SIG" in the note.

The Couples SIG listserv is used as a forum for academic discussions, therapy referral queries, research-related questions, and coordination of presentations and events at the ABCT Conference in November.

If you would like to be a member of the listserv, you must first join the Couples SIG. Once this process is underway, please contact the media coordinator(s) and request to be added to the listserv. 

If you are already a member of the listserv, you send an email to the listserv by sending it to abctcouplessig@googlegroups.com. Please note that emailing abctcouplessig@googlegroups.com sends the email to everyone on the listserv (i.e., all members of the Couples SIG). 

If you would like to email just the SIG officers, please send your email to abctcouplessig@gmail.com. 

The Couples SIG hosts events at ABCT every year. The 2023 convention will be in Seattle on November 16-19, 2023. 

Here is the schedule for the 2023 convention: 

• Couples SIG Preconference: Couples/Relationship Work Beyond the Ivory Tower
  • When: Thursday, 11/16 from 6:30pm-8:00pm PST
  • Details: The purpose of this event is to discuss different career paths and additional income opportunities outside of traditional academic positions. The panel will be composed of an esteemed group of researchers, clinicians, business owners, and entrepreneurs.
•  SIG Business Meeting
  • When: Friday, 11/17 from 4:00-5:30pm PST
• Sessions about couples and related topics are listed on the ABCT convention website. (Many of our SIG members are leading these sessions!) Please see the convention website for additional details.
